Description: Centennial College’s Mechanical Engineering Technician – Design (Fast-Track) program is geared towards qualified college or university graduates who will gain direct admission into Year 2 (Semester 3) of this two-year program and receive their Technician diploma in one year (two semesters). A project-based approach to learning will be used in the courses of this college engineering diploma program. In small groups, you’ll work on specific projects, learning how to plan, schedule, create, design and build as a part of a team. You’ll also learn advanced computer-assisted drafting and computer-assisted manufacturing (CAD/CAM) skills. This college engineering program will offer variety to those who want to combine strong conceptual thinking with a practical knowledge of machines and how they work.

You may either graduate as a Technician after one year or continue with additional study and co-op work experience in Centennial College’s Mechanical Engineering Technology – Design program. The additional study will take an extra year to complete. Note: Some courses may be offered in an online/hybrid format.

On Campus Housing

Centennial College has grown rapidly over the past several years, and demand for student housing outgrew the capacity of our older facility on Progress Avenue. Knowing that a lack of access to a residence is an impediment for students from outside the GTA, Centennial constructed the eight-storey Centennial Residence and Culinary Arts Centre at its Progress Campus. The striking new building takes the shape of a quadrangle with a central courtyard to allow natural light to reach all of the residence rooms. Housing up to 740 students in two- and four-bedroom arrangements, each suite includes its own kitchen and bathroom. Students also have access to communal kitchens and lounge spaces for larger social gatherings. Every resident has his or her own bedroom. The Centennial College Student Association Inc. (CCSAI) partners with an off-campus housing service company called Places4Students Inc. Incoming Students

 

For first year students, orientation activities for both academic and Centennial College Student Association programs, and personalized success plans are provided for you. You are also encouraged to take advantage of our free ‘success skills’ workshops offered throughout the year. Peer mentors and International advisors are also available at every campus to help you transition to life in Canada, and at Centennial.

Prerequisites:* These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.

  • Degree or a three-year college diploma in a related science or engineering area.
Application Notes : A Centennial College English Skills Assessment is required (must score 170 or 171 for admission).

A Centennial College Engineering Math Skills Assessment may also be requested (applicants will be notified individually).

ACCESS STUDENT FINANCIAL SERVICES
