Admission Requirements

Prerequisites:* These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.

  • Ā Grade12Ā English
  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent. Applicants with an OSSD showing senior English and/or Mathematics courses at the Basic Level, or with Workplace or Open courses, will be tested to determine their eligibility for admission; OR
  • Academic and Career Entrance (ACE) certificate; OR
  • General Educational Development (GED) certificate; OR
  • Mature Student status (19 years of age or older and without a high school diploma at the start of the program). Eligibility may be determined by academic achievement testing for which a fee of $50 (subject to change) will be charged.

Admissions

You must be 19 years of age or older to register in any course. Students 18 years of age or less must possess an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent to register. Students under 19 years of age and without an OSSD will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Most programs have other admission criteria or requirements as well. These may include specific academic prerequisites, completion of an essay, test or questionnaire, submission of a portfolio and/or attendance at an information session. It is your responsibility to find out about and complete any mandatory program requirements. The specific admission requirements for each program are listed in detail in Programs & Courses.

Requirements for International Students

 

If your first language is not English, you will need to complete a language assessment or provide IELTS documentation or another English proficiency testing. Each program has published minimum scores for program eligibility. Procedure for Canadian Students

Applicants who wish to apply for a program must complete an application form throughĀ ontariocolleges.ca. An application fee (payable to ontariocolleges.ca) of $110, and an official transcript, must accompany your application form. Ontariocolleges.ca receives and records applications and applicant responses to offers of admission from the college(s).
