Description: The Bachelor of Public Relations Management, Honours program at Centennial College’s Story Arts Centre is a unique, first-of-its-kind offering in Canada that combines public relations and business studies. In four years, this program will prepare you for an exciting career in public relations (PR), social media and corporate communications. The Bachelor of Public Relations Management, Honours program, offered by the School of Communications, Media, Arts and Design in collaboration with the School of Business, will balance the theory, principles and application of PR with a solid foundation in business principles through ten core business courses.

During your time in the program, you’ll complete real-world projects that will allow you to apply your newly-acquired knowledge. From writing media releases to planning events, you’ll engage in practical scenarios that will ground the core classroom concepts of this four-year degree. To prepare you for a variety of careers, the Bachelor of Public Relations Management courses will include a strong focus on writing, social and digital media, and research and communications planning

Admission Requirements

Prerequisites:* These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.

  •  Grade12 English
  •  Grade12 Mathematics

High School Applicants

To be eligible, high school applicants must have:

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent
  • At least six Grade 12 M or U, or OAC credits with an overall average of 65% or higher

Courses must include:

  • English Grade 12 U; final grade 70% or higher
  • Math Grade 12 U; final grade 65% or higher

Applicants who do not meet this requirement may be considered for admission, and will be required to complete a remedial mathematics course by the end of the first semester.

Mature Applicants

To be eligible, mature applicants must:

  • Be 21 years of age or older by December 31 of the program year
  • Provide transcripts showing English Grade 12 U, OAC, or equivalent
  • Provide complete academic history (transcripts or international evaluation)
  • Provide a resume detailing work experience

 

Mature applicants are assessed on a case-by-case basis.

On Campus Housing

Centennial College has grown rapidly over the past several years, and demand for student housing outgrew the capacity of our older facility on Progress Avenue. Knowing that a lack of access to a residence is an impediment for students from outside the GTA, Centennial constructed the eight-storey Centennial Residence and Culinary Arts Centre at its Progress Campus. The striking new building takes the shape of a quadrangle with a central courtyard to allow natural light to reach all of the residence rooms. Housing up to 740 students in two- and four-bedroom arrangements, each suite includes its own kitchen and bathroom. Students also have access to communal kitchens and lounge spaces for larger social gatherings. Every resident has his or her own bedroom. The Centennial College Student Association Inc. (CCSAI) partners with an off-campus housing service company called Places4Students Inc. For first year students, orientation activities for both academic and Centennial College Student Association programs, and personalized success plans are provided for you. You are also encouraged to take advantage of our free ‘success skills’ workshops offered throughout the year. Peer mentors and International advisors are also available at every campus to help you transition to life in Canada, and at Centennial.
