Description: Offered since 1981, the Transitional Employment Program (TEP) is an 11 month program for adults with developmental disabilities. This program includes courses such as financial management, workplace communications, transition to the workplace, consumer skills and workplace relations allowing you to gain skills needed to enter and maintain employment. You will receive faculty support to establish goals, monitor progress and evaluate achievement.

Seventy per cent of the program involves hands-on work experience training on-campus or in the town of Olds, Alberta business community.

On-campus housing is available in our newly constructed Centennial Village private rooms or College Courts townhouses. Living on campus provides many advantages both socially and academically. Off-campus housing is also available through the Students’ Association (SAOC).

Our Career Services Office provides extensive services to students including career fairs, resume-writing and interview skills workshops and an online job board. The Broncos Athletics program competes in 8 different sports in the Alberta Collegiate Athletics Conference (ACAC). A variety of clubs are also supported by the SAOC.

Olds College is situated on traditional Treaty Seven Territory. We have developed two new spaces to enhance our indigenous students’ experience at Olds College: The Olds College Indigenous Centre gathering place and a traditional Blackfoot tipi. Olds College Health & Wellness provides free and confidential services to support students.

Admission Requirements

Prerequisites:* These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
Must be 18 years of age or older, on or before, of the program start date
Required Documentation: Past program and educational reports, Previous assessments (if available), Two letters of reference, Copy of High School transcripts
Please note: This program is for adults with developmental disabilities. All suitable applicants are interviewed.
