We offer undergraduate degrees in the Arts, Science, Business and Economics, and Education with over 400 courses in 40 subject areas.
Students may obtain three year, four year, or Honours Bachelor of Arts and Science degrees, a five year integrated B.A./B.Sc. Education degree, or a two year after degree in Education. In addition, the University offers pre-professional programs (from one to three years), which prepare students for admission to professional schools in 16 areas including Law and Medicine.
Popular majors include a unique program in Biopsychology, a Theatre and Film program, a French Studies program, applied studies programs in Chemistry, Biology, and Environmental Sciences, and joint programs in Business and Administration, Communications, and Child Development and Child Care, which blend academic theory and practical experience.
Many degree programs such as Applied Computer Science, and Kinesiology and Applied Health combine a challenging practical curriculum with applied work experience. Since the University believes learning and doing are intertwined, a high level of undergraduate participation in research is promoted. The University of Winnipeg’s acclaimed Rhetoric, Writing, and Communications Department aims to enhance the writing ability of students to prepare them for academic demands and their future careers.
The University of Winnipeg provides a select number of programs at the graduate level. These include joint master’s programs with the University of Manitoba in History, Religious Studies, and Public Administration. Our Faculty of Theology offers Master of Arts, Master of Divinity, Master of Marriage and Family Therapy, and Master of Sacred Theology programs.
