Additionally, we plan a full week, prior to Orientation, for our international students. From helping you set up your cell phone plan and banking through to picking you up from the airport, you will soon realize why our close-knit community of students feel right at home at Huron.

Clubs

From Model UN club through to charitable organizations, there is no limit to the number of interests you can pursue, while also adding to your resume and developing important skills.

Best of all, if you don’t find your perfect niche, Huron administration will be happy to support you to start your own club to ensure all our students’ unique needs are being served. Cultural

Huron’s students, faculty and staff come to our university from around the world. Nearly 40 countries are represented on our campus and we honour the unique voices and lived experiences of every single individual. From our extensive course offerings, which include multiple languages and cultural lenses, through to the international representation, within our classrooms and club, we continue to nurture and grow, Huron is a truly inclusive community.

Dozens of cultural-based clubs and activities are included within the 150+ extra-curriculars available to Huron students. More than that, racial, religious and cultural difference is protected and celebrated on our campus through events, with personalized support staff and through our formalized commitment to developing global Leaders with Heart.

Special Services

Every student belongs, and is made to feel they belong, at Huron. In the spirit of fostering a safe and vibrant campus, we provide various specialized supports to uplift students with various abilities. These supports may include, but are not limited to: special equipment for students with visual and audio impairments and accommodations for students with mobility and learning differences. Huron students also have access to the Centre for Students with Disabilities and all of the special services available through our Academic Advisors and Career Development teams as well as directly through Western University.

Affiliated Institutions

As the founding institution of Western University, since 1863, Huron has remained strategically small to best serve the needs of its students, while still being able to provide unlimited access to Western University’s extensive event, club, activity and athletic offerings. Huron’s affiliation with Western’s main campus means students can access a broad range of clubs and activities, while benefitting from Huron’s strong professor-to-student ratio and uniquely personalized model of support delivery.

All Western clubs, activities, facilities, and services are available to Huron students. Huron students graduate with a globally-celebrated degree from Western University with a Huron distinction.

Additionally, Huron is the first university in Ontario to partner with Harvard Business School’s HBX program and boasts the highest rate of acceptances, per capita, to the Richard Ivey School of Business. Our close relationships with these prestigious business schools further bolsters our ability to graduate business leaders who are capable and eager to balance corporate effectiveness with social responsibility.

International Involvement

Huron recognizes one of the best ways to cultivate inspirational global citizens is to ensure they are able to actively engage with other countries and cultures. In the spirit of teaching our students the invaluable lessons of lived international experience, we offer a variety of international initiatives, including 14 formal exchange agreements, the opportunity to study abroad and the opportunity to volunteer and work on every continent in the world, except Antarctica.

Our affiliation with Western means your international opportunities are endless. Yet, unlike at many larger institutions, you will always be supported by one of our International Student Engagement team members, so you will feel safe, comfortable and able to succeed on whichever campus you decide to grow and learn within.

For those students who are seeking international involvement, within the comfort of our own campus, you can take part in countless clubs and fun activities that reflect the various cultural interests of our international community. With nearly 40 countries represented on our campus, you will have no trouble developing lifelong friendship with influential leaders from around the world.
