You can choose from two types of rooms in the Nixon building:

  • private single occupancy rooms with ensuite washroom, mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker (available for short-term residency stays only)
  • dormitory-style single occupancy rooms with shared washrooms

 

Off Campus Housing

Royal Roads University partners with Canada Homestay Network to provide homestays for international students. Colwood and Langford are the closest municipalities to Royal Roads. They are the most convenient areas to live if you’re studying on campus.

We enhance your classroom experience and support your career goals through career events, professional planning and preparation, strong networks, and specialized career advising.

Sports

You can hit the gym, on-campus or online. The Recreation Centre is free for Royal Roads students and open to the public. Relax and recharge with fitness equipment, a yoga studio and weight room. Or do a home workout to our videos. You can also get closer to nature with the many trails on our 260-acre campus. Old-growth forest, stunning views of the Olympic mountains and plenty of fresh air promise to clear and inspire your mind.

Activities

Drop-in fitness and yoga classes are included with membership to the Recreation Centre.

Clubs

You never know where you’ll find an opportunity to change the world. Joining a student club will bring you closer to people who share your interests and values. People who, like you, want to do creative and courageous things. To start a club or organization, contact Student Services or the Royal Roads University Student Association.

Information Technology

Visit the computer customer service hub for help with your technology questions. Our IT staff provide resources to support Royal Roads students with issues such as:

Requirements for International Students

All of our programs at Royal Roads University are unique. And admission requirements vary. Once you’ve identified your program of choice, check its specific admission and application requirements. If you have any questions about the admission requirements, contact an enrolment advisor.

Procedure for International Students

We follow a holistic, student-centered approach to admissions. We know you have a lot to offer. It’s about you, your experience and where you are in life. Our flexible admission policy lets us consider everything you’ve learned, not just your grades. We look at all of your learning accomplishments, even if they didn’t happen in a classroom. We think you’ve got what it takes to succeed. Our Enrolment Advisors can help show you how your background can provide eligibility into one of our programs.

Notes: Undergraduate fast-track Year 3 and 4 programs operate on a quarterly basis, which means that a student can complete four quarters (the equivalent of two full years) in one calendar year.

Year 1 and 2 bachelor’s degree programs (taught by the International Study Centre) start in September and January each year, and are completed in 2 academic years.

Master of Arts in Leadership and Training program is structured around two five-week on-campus residencies, followed by use of distance technologies. Degree completion is in two years. All remaining master degree programs are structured around three, three-week on-campus residencies, followed by distance technologies and an organizational consulting project. Degree completion is in two years.
