These communities are available upon request and assigned on a first come, first serve basis. Residence Life staff live on site and plan activities such as game nights and study sessions. Housing fees include a landline (please bring your own phone!), and wireless high-speed internet. Students are responsible for providing their own cooking and eating utensils, food, dishes, and glassware. Students must also provide their own bedding.

Residence students at the Prince George campus with less than sixty UNBC credit hours completed will be part of the convenient 5-day OR 7-Day Unlimited Meal Plan. The Residence Meal Plan is designed to support students who are away from home allowing them to maximize their campus experience by reducing the need to grocery shop, prepare, and clean up after meals. The UNBC Agora Dining Hall is a welcoming social environment and is a great way to meet new people. Meal plans will remain optional for residence students with more than sixty UNBC credit hours completed as well as all graduate students.

Off-campus housing in Prince George comes in a variety of rental options including apartments, condos, basement suites and houses (some even come furnished). UNBC International Education offers extensive student services and programs to ease the transition for incoming international students. These activities include an orientation for all new students to involving academic and social activities. Students will learn about the wide range of support services available to all students while they study at UNBC. Once students have begun classes the International Education office is here to assist and direct students during their entire career at UNBC

UNBC builds the work force leaders of tomorrow by offering professional and relevant career counseling. We organize workshops, campus career fairs, networking events with employers, and of course offer a popular co-op program. Located right on the UNBC campus, the Charles Jago Northern Sport Centre combines the best in athletics, fitness and recreation. The facility hosts three gymnasiums, two indoor fields, squash courts and the region’s only indoor track. Modern fitness equipment; cardio and weights, varied fitness classes and fun drop-in sports like pickleball are available to all members. We are the home of the UNBC Timberwolves basketball and soccer teams, and UNBC Intramural Leagues. Students receive a membership to the Northern Sport Centre via the Fitness and Recreation fee included in annual student fees.

Students at UNBC work hard and play hard; on campus and off! From Orientation Week fun and games, to cheering on the Timberwolves, campus social life is never boring! Explore the great outdoors on your doorstep with urban forest walking trails, nearby lakes, and accessible recreation like snowshoeing, downhill and cross-country skiing. Prefer the indoors? Students will stay connected with our campus-wide wi-fi, online services and computer stations located in the library and beyond. Those living in residence also have wi-fi that is included in all housing fees. Each student is assigned a personal UNBC email address that gives them access to online services such as Blackboard and PaperCut.

UNBC is quickly becoming a preferred study destination with students representing over fifty countries around the world attending our programs. The UNBC International office promotes cultural awareness, intercultural learning and research opportunities on campus through a variety of fun activities such as Global U Week. Canada’s culture is rich with the history of First Nations and all UNBC campuses are located and serves diverse traditional territories. UNBC main campus in Prince George is located on the traditional territory of the Lheidli T’enneh, pasrt of Dakelh (Carrier) First Nations. Elders from the Carrier First Nations presented UNBC with our Carrier name at a special ceremony in 2016. Nizdeh Nekeyoh Hohudel’eh Baiyoh translates to “House of Learning” and recognizes UNBC’s key educational role in the traditional territory of the Lheidli T’enneh. We know that a successful UNBC academic experience requires caring support at all levels. Academically we offer students free drop-in tutoring programs, study sessions and career guidance. From a health and wellness perspective, students can access on-site medical services such as counselling, flu shots, physician referrals, prescription renewals and more. Licensed child care is on site and is available on a first come, first serve basis. UNBC is committed to reducing physical, intellectual and social barriers to ensure all students can enjoy the university experience.
